Job Title: Adult Day Service Support Worker
Location: Borehamwood Day Service
Pay: £13.06 per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 15:00 (5 days per week)

Guidant Global is a leading recruitment partner for local authorities, providing high-calibre care support staff. We are looking for Adult Support Workers to join our team and provide day-to-day support for service users within Hertfordshire County Council Supported Living Units.
About the Role
You will support people in their daily activities, enabling independence and promoting choice, inclusion, and citizenship. This service provides emotional and physical support to individuals from different care groups, including:
1. Adults with complex physical and/or learning disabilities
2. People with age-associated needs
Your aim will be to assist people to learn or maintain daily living skills to enable independence as far as possible.
Key Responsibilities
3. Work as part of a small team to provide personal care and activities tailored to individual needs
4. Support clients with personal care, social, emotional, recreational, and learning needs in line with care plans
5. Provide emotional support, companionship, and a safe environment
6. Assist with mobility, including use of equipment
7. Organise and deliver therapeutic and recreational activities to enhance wellbeing
8. Develop personal activity plans and assist in events, ensuring health and safety, comfort, and enjoyment
9. Provide assistance with eating and drinking
10. Administer medication (training provided)
11. Carry out basic first aid when required
12. Promote equality and treat everyone with fairness and dignity
13. Report any concerns about abuse or welfare to the service manager
14. Undertake other duties as directed by the line manager
A Typical Shift Includes:
15. Following care plans, routines, guidelines, risk assessments, and Behaviour Management Plans
16. Personal care, moving & handling, hoisting
17. Assisting with meals
18. Social interaction and companionship
19. Cleaning and household tasks
20. Completing paperwork
Training & Support
21. Full training and annual refresher training provided and paid for by Guidant Global
What We're Looking For
22. Ability to communicate fluently in English (verbal and written)
23. Compassionate, positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
24. Experience in care support roles preferred
25. Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure
26. Commitment to promoting independence and dignity
Access to transport is essential to travel to Borehamwood and other Hertfordshire sites if required.
