Overview
We are recruiting a Salaried General Practitioner to join the Hywel Dda University Health Board managed practice located in Neyland with a branch site in Johnston. The Johnston site joined the Hywel Dda University Health Board portfolio of Managed Practices from 1 November 2022, following the resignation of the GMS contract. This is an opportunity to join a practice of approximately 6,000 patients. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes other GPs, Advanced Nurse/Paramedic Practitioners, Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician support, as well as established nursing and administrative teams. The Health Board is committed to multidisciplinary team working and aims to expand the team in the coming months.
We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our team to provide leadership as well as clinical commitment and can offer a mix of face-to-face consultations, telephone triage and remote consultations. The Practice uses E-Consult and has signed up to Workflow Optimisation.
You will be part of the wider Health Board GP team and have the opportunity to participate in a monthly Journal Club and have peer support through the Deputy Medical Director’s team, as well as from your salaried GP peers and from the Primary Care Cluster Locality Lead. There is the opportunity for training and development in any areas of specialist interest.
Responsibilities
* To provide, as part of a core multi-disciplinary team, a high quality general medical service to the registered patients of the practice (including temporary residents)
* To provide consultation and appropriate clinical management of patients attending the practice, or to those where a home visit is clinically necessary
* To provide leadership, clinical oversight and direction to the rest of the clinical team
* To provide telephone and/or virtual consultation and appropriate management of patients who contact the practice, where necessary
* To undertake telephone triage as and when necessary
* To keep accurate and legible records of all patient contacts and contribute to electronic data recording and audit as directed by the service
