THE ROLE
The work that comes into the team is varied. Each member of our team is assigned to one of the group aligned subteams. Whilst predominantly carrying out work for your subteam, you can expect to work on a variety of assignments from across all of the Firm's groups, which gives you a good insight into the workings of a commercial law firm. The specific Real Estate assignments you will be working on can include the following:
1. submission of all Land Registry applications including registration of transfers, charges, unilateral notices, deeds of variation and first registrations
2. managing electronic data sites/client external sites, uploading and ordering documentation, and liaising with third parties
3. reviewing and reporting on leases and other documentation as part of a due diligence exercise
4. being the first point of call for the client to check property title information and reviewing titles to confirm land ownership and lease terms
5. drafting and negotiating licences to assign, underlet and alter through to completion, as well as drafting rent review memoranda
6. direct contact with client as well as supporting the more senior team members with drafting, reporting and working on transactions
7. providing regular updates to the client on matter progress
8. all other areas of post completion work, such as scheduling and archiving deeds, and updating records
9. providing ad hoc transactional support on Real Estate projects
10. being the main paralegal contact on sale and purchase transactions
11. checking legal documents for quality, consistency and content
12. drafting and producing legal documentation and standard forms
13. any additional tasks as required by the business
14. meeting SLA's and tight client deadlines.
15. adapt to client specific processes.
16. running own case load of circa.25 files
17. regular data entry tasks which will be peer reviewed by client.
18. a "can do" attitude and willingness to prioritise client requirements when needed by the business.

Previous Real Estate or paralegal experience is of relevance, but not essential.
