As our Head of Investments you will be joining in a senior leadership role responsible for setting, overseeing and delivering Foresters Financials’ investment strategy across all funds and shareholder investments. You will provide strategic direction, governance and oversight of external investment managers, ensures strong investment risk management and regulatory compliance, and delivers high-quality investment management information to senior management, Boards and committees. You will work closely with actuarial, finance, risk, marketing and external partners to ensure investments support policyholder and shareholder outcomes, meet regulatory expectations and align with Foresters Financials’ long-term objectives. Key Responsibilities include: Investment Strategy and Oversight Review and update investment strategies across Foresters Funds, including the annual investment strategy review. Support the With-Profits Actuary in respect of With-Profit funds. Oversee shareholder investments, including the SoHo fund. Conduct the annual review of the Investment Policy. Provide investment support to the actuarial team, including reviews of funds such as the P&A Fund Governance and Oversight of External Investment Managers Hold regular performance and service review meetings with external managers and maintain appropriate records. Monitor compliance with investment guidelines, including asset allocations, duration targets, credit limits and approved investments. Reconcile benchmark and performance data between external managers, internal systems and market indices. Review external manager invoices and calculate quarterly additional fund fees. Review internal controls documentation for all investment managers. Lead Assessment of Value reviews across all managers. Monitor provision of Solvency II reports and manage related queries. Oversee operational resilience and business continuity arrangements with investment managers. Complete annual assessments of investment managers and report findings to the relevant investment committees. Custodian and Third-Party Relationships Manage the custodian bank relationship, including review and challenge of monthly fees. Investment Management Information and Reporting Provide quarterly investment reporting to Boards and Committees, including RIC and EIC. Prepare quarterly materials for the With-Profits Panel. Produce quarterly investment updates for senior stakeholders and Consumer Duty reporting. Provide quarterly fund data to the Canada finance team. Prepare monthly investment reporting for the CFO, Executive Leadership Team and wider business. Deliver regular AUM and investment update communications. Investment Operations and Unit Pricing Support Provide oversight and support to the unit pricing process, with reduced involvement following SMF transition. Issue monthly subscription and redemption instructions to external managers based on net fund flows. Marketing and Stakeholder Support Review quarterly investment bulletins and support their publication. Provide ad hoc market commentary and content during periods of market volatility. Provide monthly asset allocation data for use in customer-facing tools and materials. Customer, Distribution and Compliance Support Respond to investment-related queries from customers, field force and compliance, directly or via external managers. Finance and Business Support Support finance reporting teams, including quarterly reporting to Canada. Respond to ad hoc information requests including management fees and audit queries. Provide forecasts and inputs to the business planning process. Oversee annual renewal of credit rating licences. Issue the monthly RPI communication across the business. Working hours are 35 hours a week Monday to Friday. Start times are flexible from 7.30am to 9.30am. There is flexibility to work from home for 2 days a week. What we require Extensive experience in investment management within financial services. Strong understanding of investment strategy, portfolio construction and manager oversight. Experience of working with With-Profits funds and insurance balance sheets desirable. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements including Solvency II and Consumer Duty. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. ·Qualifications Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA, actuarial or accounting qualification) or equivalent experience.
