Join to apply for the Casual Relief Support Worker role at Autism East Midlands.
We have multiple posts available. This is a role where you can select shifts to suit you, contributing to people’s lives by supporting autistic individuals with activities they enjoy and helping to develop independent living skills. Full training is provided; no experience is necessary beyond a positive attitude and shared values.
Responsibilities
* Provide high standards of professional care and practice, supporting independent living, person-centred needs, and emotional well-being.
* Maintain cleanliness and IPC measures across the setting.
* Develop positive working relationships with service users, families and team members; know your own limitations and seek support when required.
* Familiarise yourself with Autism East Midlands systems and processes to deliver high-quality care and support.
* Keep records up to date, secure and confidential in line with GDPR.
* Communicate professionally with families, the clinical team and external agencies within confidentiality boundaries.
* Further develop understanding of autism and implement it in practice.
* Develop understanding of CALM and Positive Behaviour Support and embed these approaches in the service.
* Complete all elements of the Care Certificate and mandatory training.
* Access internal IT systems and log incidents on reporting systems.
* Ensure compliance with service finance procedures.
* Work flexibly as required by the rota and the terms of your contract, as directed by your manager.
* Communicate effectively within the team to ensure continuity of care.
* Understand communication methods of those supported in the service.
* Work safely according to individual support plans, risk assessments and company policies.
* Support service users with personal care when required and provide assistance in line with individual support plans.
* Adhere to the Autism East Midlands Code of Conduct.
Requirements
* No prior experience necessary; training provided. The right attitude and alignment with our values are important.
* Experience as a support worker, care assistant, nursery assistant, or in NHS/healthcare/social care is welcomed.
* Available for full-time, part-time and casual relief positions with 24/7 support; rolling rota including early, late, sleep-ins, weekends, bank holidays, and flexible patterns.
* Must be able to provide evidence of Right to Work in the UK; eligibility for the Disability Confident scheme may qualify you for an interview.
