Electrician – Level 3 only
Location: HMP Bedford – St Loyes Street, Bedford MK40
Salary: £39,579.20 plus a 5% shift allowance for weekend working and £1,000 in RRA per annum.
Contract: Full time/Permanent
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated fully qualified Electrician to join our team at HMP Bedford, a Category B & adult/male prison.
As an Electrician, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues from various disciplines, contributing to a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
Work with the Facilities Maintenance Team to support the smooth and safe operation of the prison. Provide electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work on commercial or industrial electrical systems. Assist in planned and preventive maintenance operations.
Qualifications
* Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition)
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
* Two years' experience working as a fully qualified electrician
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
