Experienced Social Worker -Exploitation and Missing Team Hours Per Week :37.00 Start Date :13/04/2026 End Date :10/07/2026 Start Time :09:00End Time :17:30 £39ph office at least 2 days per week as required by needs of the service, home working on other days plus visits and meetings within the community as required This is for an Experienced social worker for our Exploitation and Missing team which is part of Young People's Safeguarding in Peterborough- Job purpose; The Social Worker in the Exploitation and Missing Team plays a pivotal role in safeguarding vulnerable children and young people who are at risk of exploitation, trafficking, and going missing. This position involves some direct work with individuals, their families, and partner agencies to identify risks, develop protective strategies, and ensure the best possible outcomes. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to child protection, advocacy, and multi-agency collaboration. Main duties and responsibilities; Build trusting relationships with vulnerable children and young people. Use trauma informed approaches to understand experiences of exploitation. Respond to children reported missing from home or care. To provide oversight on return home interviews to support next steps in safeguarding plans. Conduct timely return home interviews to explore reasons for going missing. Identify push and pull factors Contribute to safeguarding plans Deliver training to professionals across Peterborough. Attend Strategy meetings Attend weekly Risk Outside The Home panels and Monthly Multi Agency Child Exploitation (MACE). Work collaboratively with police, education, health services, youth justice and third sector organisations. Share intelligence appropriately to safeguard children. Provide oversight and support for missing workers Engage in training, continuous professional development. Maintain registration with Social Work England
