Strategic Sourcing Analyst / Procurement Strategy Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity to join a respected aerospace and defence engineering organization at the forefront of complex, high‑precision manufacturing. This highly visible role works directly alongside senior leadership within the Sourcing & Supply Chain function.
We look for an exceptional analyst who can absorb complex operational, engineering and supply chain information, identify key insights and transform them into actionable recommendations that drive business decisions. This is not a traditional reporting role.
Key responsibilities include:
* Analyse complex operational, sourcing and supply chain data to support strategic decision‑making
* Translate technical discussions, operational challenges and supplier issues into concise executive summaries, business cases and decision‑ready recommendations
* Identify root causes behind delivery, quality and supply chain performance issues and help drive measurable improvements
* Support strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier performance reviews and operational improvement programmes
* Develop high‑quality leadership materials, briefing packs and executive presentations
* Track risks, dependencies and delivery progress across key operational and sourcing initiatives
* Conduct market, supplier and operational analysis to support evidence‑based decision making
* Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain teams within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
* Help improve reporting workflows, operational visibility and data quality using advanced analytical and AI‑enabled tools
We’re particularly interested in individuals with experience within:
* Aerospace, defence, engineering or advanced manufacturing environments
Required skills include:
Core Analytical Skills
* Advanced Excel analysis and modelling
* Data interpretation and trend analysis
* Root cause analysis (RCA)
* KPI reporting and dashboard creation
* Data visualisation and reporting
* Ability to work with large/complex data sets
* Translating data into actionable business insights and recommendations
* Executive‑level reporting and presentation preparation
Procurement / Supply Chain Experience
* Experience within sourcing, procurement or supply chain functions
* Supplier performance analysis and reporting
* Procurement operations reporting
* Spend analysis and supplier data analysis
* Supply chain operational reporting
* Understanding of procurement/sourcing processes
* Exposure to supplier governance and performance management
Business & Stakeholder Skills
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Ability to present findings clearly to senior stakeholders
* Experience creating executive reports and slide decks
* Ability to challenge data and identify risks/issues
* Strong stakeholder engagement across procurement, sourcing and operations
Systems / Technical Skills
* Advanced Microsoft Excel – Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas/functions
* Data manipulation
* Reporting automation
* Power BI or similar dashboard/reporting tools
* ERP/MRP systems exposure (SAP preferred)
* Data extraction and reporting tools
* PowerPoint presentation development
