Reactive Engineer Permanent Grantham £40,000pa We are looking for a Reactive Engineer to join our client’s team in Grantham. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s largest groups and growing! You will be a hands-on engineer for maintaining and improving a wide variety of plant machinery, with a focus on reactive and planned preventive maintenance. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on, production-driven environment. Your main duties as a Reactive Engineer will be: * Perform reactive maintenance to ensure machinery operates at optimal performance levels. * Overhaul, adapt, and carry out improvements on existing machinery. * Mechanically biased role with some electrical work involved. * Replace bearings, inspect compressors, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems. * Maintain and repair equipment including conveyors, pipework, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding tasks. * Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the plant and suggest new methods and procedures. * Complete all documentation to a high standard. * Carry out basic facility and site service maintenance as needed. * Ensure effective teamwork and adopt a flexible, first-time-right approach. Requirements for the Reactive Engineer are: * Qualification of Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering. * Mechanical knowledge such as bearings, compressors, chains, hydraulics and pneumatics is essential. * Ability to work at height and confined spaces. * Knowledge and implementation of continuous improvement This role would suit someone from an aircraft mechanic, industrial scrapyard, recycling, plant machinery or FLT maintenance type of work. This is on a rotating shift pattern 4 on 4 off, Hours are 06:00-18:00 & 18:00-06:00.
