Role Purpose
* Play a key role in the site integrated H&S team
* Champion the HPC Way including its pillars
Accountabilities
* Ensure the health and safety standards of the HPC project are consistently met.
* Provide competent advice across a multi-disciplinary project.
* Carry out duties following all MEH policies and procedures.
* Build relationships with Tier 1 contractors and the Principal Contractor.
* Monitor working practices regarding health, safety, environment, and welfare.
* Conduct HSE inspections on-site, including at height and in confined spaces, reporting trends promptly.
* Provide specialist advice on topics like COSHH.
* Implement MEH duty of care responsibilities following incidents.
* Approximately 90% site-based and 10% office-based work.
Key Deliverables
* Conduct inspections and observations per shift, record findings.
* Intervene in unsafe practices, suggest solutions.
* Participate in training, support H&S expertise.
* Support accident investigation processes.
* Monitor compliance with site procedures.
* Support all MEH HSE functions as needed.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
NEBOSH general or construction certificate or equivalent, with at least 5 years in construction.
Additional Qualifications/Experience
Background in COSHH, DSEAR, IOSH membership, and site experience in nuclear industry preferred. Willing to undertake Level 3 in Education and Training if required. Knowledge of Nuclear site Licence Conditions, auditing, work at height regulations, blasting, coatings standards, electrical work, lifting and rigging standards. Excellent communication skills, IT literacy, and knowledge of health and safety regulations are essential.
