About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Sheffield. This role involves supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning plans and behaviour strategies.
Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Support students with personal care, emotional regulation, and social development.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet individual student needs.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential.
Strong communication, patience, and empathy.
Ability to adapt to changing needs and respond calmly to challenging situations.
A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners.
Desirable:
Experience in a school setting or with EHCPs.
Training in Team Teach, Makaton, or other SEN-related approaches.
