Job Description
1. There are 4 roles, each 35 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. One is based at Gartcraig Depot, and three are based at Eastgate. Flexibility in working patterns and hours is required.
2. You will be responsible for the development, installation, maintenance, and monitoring of the City's Street Lighting Network to meet service targets and ensure compliance with electrical regulations and standards.
3. The role involves supporting projects to upgrade Glasgow City Council's street lighting to LED technology, creating a safe, reliable, and energy-efficient lighting network.
4. Qualifications required include a Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent, or a SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering demonstrating eligibility for Technician Electrician or Approved Electrician status.
5. You should have a BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition and a valid ECS card, or the ability to obtain these within a year. A current driving license is essential.
6. Knowledge of current Wiring Regulations, Technical Standards, and Codes of Practice related to electrical distribution is necessary, along with the ability to support budget management and performance monitoring.
