Job Overview
This position provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain experience and expertise in managing and treating vascular patients, predominantly in the outpatient and ambulatory setting. The post is ideally suited for those who have completed foundation training and/or core surgical training (or equivalent) and are interested in gaining further knowledge and expertise in vascular surgery. The post holder will be trained in the endovenous treatment of varicose veins under local anaesthetic, as well as their pre and post operative care. They will support both face-to-face MDT clinics and tele-clinics, with direct vascular consultant supervision and regular teaching. They will work closely with the specialist vascular nurses, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, to support patients with vascular pathologies within the Health Board. Formal and informal mentorship will be available on request

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Eligible to hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC
* Valid Certified Basic Life Support Skills (or equivalent international qualifications) OR - Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills (or equivalent international qualifications)
Experience
Essential criteria
* Evidence of working effectively as a part of a multidisciplinary team
* Previous experience of working in the NHS or equivalent
Desirable criteria
* 18 months experience in medical specialties (not including Foundation modules) by time of appointment
