Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulatory Officer - Field Based - 31634

The Regulatory Officer role is based in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) team within Batteries, WEEE and Shipments, part of Environmental Markets and Regulation. This is a national team with officers across England, requiring national travel and overnight stays.
We seek professional, enthusiastic individuals to regulate businesses operating within the Producer Responsibility regime. Your responsibilities include ensuring producers, reprocessors, and exporters of waste comply with their obligations.
Daily tasks may include:
* Undertaking audits (on-site and virtual)
* Taking enforcement actions when necessary
* Disrupting non-compliance
* Analyzing complex data for evidence-based regulation decisions
* Handling confidential information within data protection guidelines
* Contributing to process and procedure improvements
The role is varied, vital, and challenging. Being self-motivated and disciplined, while able to work as part of a dispersed team, is essential.

No specific waste industry experience is required as full training is provided. We value individuals who are organized, rational, IT-literate, comfortable with numbers, and passionate about the environment. Interviews are expected to take place during the week commencing 6th October. Our hybrid working approach includes both office and home working.
