We are seeking a Senior Design Manager to join our Buildings team. The role involves managing the design process and team from enquiry through to bid submission, PCSA stage, and ongoing management of design issues until project completion and handover.
Responsibilities include:
* Assisting in the appointment and management of the design team contracts to meet cost, time, quality, and safety standards.
* Creating and managing the project design management plan, ensuring all design team members understand their responsibilities.
* Managing the production and coordination of the design programme, Employers Requirements, and design deliverables schedule throughout the project.
* Overseeing the delivery of design in accordance with the design management plan, including client requirements, cost, programme, standards, BIM strategy, and contracts.
* Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations across the project and design teams.
* Leading buildability and value engineering reviews.
* Maintaining BIM Execution Plan and CAD protocols.
* Demonstrating experience in delivering MOD/DIO projects through bid, PCSA, and delivery stages, successfully meeting quality, time, and budget targets.
* Understanding and experience working with MOD/DIO, including knowledge of defence JSP standards.
* Experience with various contract forms such as NEC3 & 4, MPTC, and JCT.
* Managing design within a secure UK environment.
* Extensive experience in design delivery for building, civil engineering, and MEP installations.
* Experience delivering design across all project lifecycle phases.
* Proficiency in digital technologies like CDE, BIM, and design coordination software, and adherence to ISO19650 standards.
