SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School
Preston
Start Date: 06 April
A welcoming and supportive mainstream school in Preston is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from 06 April.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them to thrive within a mainstream classroom environment. You will be working closely with pupils who require extra support, helping to build their confidence, engagement and independence throughout the school day.
The role may involve supporting children on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or within the wider classroom, depending on the needs of the school.
The role will involve:
Supporting pupils with special educational needs in class
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo
Helping to adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing
Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
