Accounts Assistant\nLocation: Bournemouth, Hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days at home) **Once probation period has been completed\nReady to take your accounting career to the next level with a growing, supportive and ambitious firm?\nMarele Accountancy is expanding our Bournemouth team and we're on the lookout for a talented Accounts Assistant to join us full-time.\nAbout the Accounts Assistant Role:\nYou’ll be an essential part of a close-knit, high-performing team where your skills will be valued and developed.\nDuring the probation period, the role is fully office-based to ensure you receive the best support, training and integration into our team.\nAfter successfully completing probation, you can choose between a hybrid working model (3 days in the office, 2 from home) or staying fully office-based — whichever suits you best— along with flexible start and finish times, giving you greater control over your working day.\nWe’re looking for a proactive, detail-driven individual who takes pride in their work, thrives on responsibility and is passionate about contributing to a culture of excellence.\nWhat the Accounts Assistant Will Do:\n * \n Prepare and manage invoices, VAT returns, payroll and bookkeeping duties\n * \n Produce trial balances, monthly management accounts, budgets and cash flow forecasts\n * \n Carry out credit control, prepare payment runs, costings and pricing\n * \n Prepare and submit year-end accounts and self-assessment tax returns\n * \n Help configure and improve financial processes and procedures\n * \n Collaborate on a range of financial operations within the accounts department\n * \n Take on additional ad-hoc tasks as needed — no two days are the same!\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n * \n Level 4 AAT UK qualified (or ACCA UK part-qualified/qualified)\n * \n Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role in the UK\n * \n Minimum 1 year of payroll experience in the UK\n * \n Solid grasp of double-entry bookkeeping and financial accounting\n * \n Strong working knowledge of Xero, SageCloud, Sage50 Accounts and QuickBooks\n * \n Experience in the domiciliary care sector is highly desirable\nAccounts Assistant Key Skills:\n * \n Excellent English communication skills — written and spoken\n * \n Confident and courteous in client interactions\n * \n Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Outlook and Word\n * \n Highly organised with brilliant attention to detail\n * \n Self-motivated, proactive and disciplined with excellent teamwork skills\n * \n Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage a dynamic workload\nAccounts Assistant Essential Requirements:\n * \n Must be based in Bournemouth/Poole and have the right to work in the UK\n * \n Must be willing to work full-time from the Bournemouth office during probation\nWhat We Offer:\n * \n A collaborative, supportive environment with ongoing training and development\n * \n Study support and professional guidance to help you grow your career\n * \n Exposure to a diverse client portfolio\n * \n A clear path for career progression\n * \n Competitive salary, based on experience\n * \n Hybrid working model and flexible hours after probation\nAt Marele Accountancy, we expect the best — and we support you every step of the way to achieve it.
