Hay Lodge Community Hospital
Ward 1
Charge Nurse
Permanent | Band 6, 36hrs
Don’t miss this opportunity to join the team at Hay Lodge Community Hospital as an experienced Charge Nurse or a Registered Nurse wishing to develop. We are a nurse‑led unit providing a 24hour inpatient service predominately for older people. We offer rehabilitation and end of life care for people in the local community.
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable person who would like to be part of a friendly and supportive team with an ethos of continuous improvement. The post holder must be a confident decision maker, be able to work without direct supervision and supervise registered and unregistered staff, as well as student nurses. There is an expectation that you will possess the leadership skills required to motivate and inspire the nursing team to continuously deliver high‑quality person‑centred care; and you will also lead by example.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for working with the other health professionals within the team, patients and families to lead on and coordinate complex discharges. This is a supportive role to the Senior Charge Nurse position requiring the post holder to assist in ensuring the safe and effective running of the ward on a day‑to‑day basis.
The role requires you to have full UK NMC registration and be flexible and able to work days or nights on the ward to meet the needs of a 24/7 service.
Informal enquiries regarding the post will be welcomed by Caroline Wylie, Senior Charge Nurse on Telephone – 01721 726995 or Email – caroline.wylie@nhs.scot
