Textiles Teacher Required - Secondary School in Sutton - January 2025 Start A creative and dynamic secondary school in the borough of Sutton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Textiles Teacher to join their thriving Design and Technology or Art department.
This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Textiles across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging and innovative lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and foster students' creativity, design skills, and technical abilities in textiles.
Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, experimentation, and the development of a wide range of textile techniques.
Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including sewing machines, fabrics, and design software, to deliver a rich and varied curriculum encompassing fashion, textiles, and design.
Collaborating with colleagues within the department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's creative culture through exhibitions and projects.
The Successful Candidate will have: A degree in Textiles, Fashion Design, or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Textiles curriculum.
Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for textiles and design.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
