Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Liaison Officer to join our team, based at our Wimbledon office. This is a long-term role supporting children, families, and professionals, with a strong focus on safeguarding and early intervention.
The successful candidate must hold a current DSL Level 3 qualification and have proven experience working with families in a safeguarding or support capacity.
Responsibilities
* Act as a key point of contact between families, the organisation, and external agencies
* Provide advice, guidance, and practical support to families facing complex challenges
* Identify safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action in line with policies and procedures
* Work closely with schools, social care, health professionals, and other partners
* Maintain accurate, confidential records and contribute to case reviews and reports
* Promote positive engagement and build trusting relationships with families
* Support the organisation\'s safeguarding culture and best practice standards
Essential Requirements
* DSL Level 3 qualification (mandatory)
* Experience in a family liaison, safeguarding, pastoral, or support role
* Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and procedures
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
* Confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable
* Experience working within education, social care, or a family support service
* Knowledge of local safeguarding partnerships and referral processes
* Additional safeguarding or family support training
