The Employment and Skills Team are entering a new phase of delivery with the introduction of new employment support programmes, creating opportunities to expand our delivery team.
We are seeking enthusiastic Employment and Skills Officers to promote our services to local residents and support their transition into employment, education, or training through intensive support, including the new Connect to Work programme.
You will play a vital role in transforming the lives of Solihull residents by helping them secure employment, apprenticeships, or training. The role involves working within a small, friendly team at the Solihull Recruitment and Training Centre in Chelmsley Wood, with flexible working options across the Borough.
Roles available:
* Employment Support Officer (full-time and part-time)
This role involves delivering high-quality employment support through tailored, one-to-one, and small group interventions for residents facing barriers to work, including care-experienced young people, ex-offenders, and individuals with disabilities, mental health conditions, or long-term health issues, aiding them into sustainable employment or training.
You will deliver and support specialist employment programmes aligned with the Supported Employment Qualitative Framework (SEQF) and Individual Placement Support (IPS). A DBS check is required for this position.

* Outreach and Engagement Officer (part-time)
This role involves promoting the Employment and Skills offer to residents and community groups, acting as the first contact for referrals, and delivering an enhanced triage service to identify the best support route for participants.
You will support the team in delivering engagement and recruitment events, providing tailored support to residents facing barriers to work, including care-experienced individuals, ex-offenders, and those with disabilities, mental health conditions, or long-term health issues, helping them into sustainable employment or training.
You will work with individuals, employers, and partner organizations, line managing a small team, shaping and leading their work, ensuring contractual targets are met, and implementing robust reporting that complies with fidelity assurance models (SEQF or IPS).
This position is subject to the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
