GRADUATE QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Our client, a well-established family-run civil engineering contractor based in East Sussex, is looking for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. Due to continued success and project wins, this is an exciting opportunity to gain experience working on water and highways infrastructure projects.
This role offers the chance to learn from experienced professionals, develop your commercial skills, and build a strong foundation in Quantity Surveying within a supportive and collaborative environment.
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with an experienced Quantity Surveyor and the site delivery teams, gaining practical experience across the full commercial lifecycle of projects. You will be hands-on working with a mentor, while developing your understanding of industry contracts such as NEC and JCT.

As part of the commercial team, you will gain experience in:
• Project valuations
• Change control and compensation events
• Subcontractor procurement
• Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR)
• Early warning notices
• Risk register updates
• Monthly commercial reporting
• Cash flow forecasting
• Subcontractor payment processes
• Supporting dispute resolution
• Assisting with final accounts
Role requirements:
• BEng or MEng in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Full UK driving licence
• A positive attitude to learning
