NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is rotational long day shift pattern 0730-2015 on days and 2015-0730 on nights.
Responsibilities
 * Assist in the provision of specialist nursing care and treatment for individuals who have a mental disorder or learning disability and who have demonstrated serious offending behaviour or present a significant risk to themselves or others.
 * Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide care through a patient-focused approach within a safe and secure environment, under risk assessment and risk management that maximise the individual’s rehabilitation potential.
Role context
The Directorate of Forensic Mental Health and Learning Disabilities provides inpatient care in both medium and low secure settings and aims to support safe, secure, and therapeutic care focused on risk assessment, reduction, rehabilitation and discharge planning for return to the community.
Requirements
 * A suitably qualified and experienced individual to join the team as a Health Care Support Worker.
 * As part of the post, the holder will be responsible for assisting in the provision of specialist nursing care and treatment as described above.
