Start Date: ASAP Salary: TA2 Scale Point 5-6, £19,739.02 - £20,052.27 per annum Chadsgrove is a mixed community day special school for children aged 2-19 years who have a physical disability and/or complex medical need, many of whom also have associated learning, sensory or communication needs. This Learning and Support Assistant role is predominantly to support a young person 1:1 who has complex learning and health needs. You will be required to support with teaching activities in the classroom, personal care requirements and health care. The work can involve lifting pupils and candidates need to be physically fit and capable of working co-operatively within a multi-disciplinary team. It is essential that candidates are adaptable with a good sense of humour and have an ability to empathise and work positively with the pupils’ individual needs. The post will involve working in class situations with teachers and other teaching assistants. It is essential that you are willing to be trained to administer medication. Previous experience of working with children and young people with a physical disability and/or complex medical need would be an advantage but it is not essential, as training will be given.
