About the Role
As a Sous Chef at Bourn View Care Home in Birmingham, you will support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team that delivers a nutritionally balanced, high‑quality culinary service within budget to enhance residents’ well‑being.
Responsibilities
* Prepare modified diets that are appealing, well‑balanced and comply with IDDSI guidance.
* Supervise and direct culinary staff, providing instruction and demonstration on basic food preparation.
* Apply safe food handling principles to meet highest hygiene standards.
* Support the culinary team in understanding and applying the Avery Food Safety Management System.
Qualifications
* Relevant catering qualification: City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, NVQ, or equivalent.
* Minimum of one year of catering experience.
* Demonstrated compassion and commitment to high‑quality culinary services for residents.
* Adaptive and flexible, able to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.
Legal & Compliance Requirements
* A DBS Disclosure check – cost provided by Avery Healthcare.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
