You'll be joining a well-established civil engineering business known for delivering safe, sustainable and efficient transport and infrastructure solutions across the UK. What you will be doing
As a Senior Site Manager / Agent, you will take full responsibility for the successful management of a major highways scheme in the Halifax/West Yorkshire area. You will ensure that all construction activities - including temporary traffic management, resurfacing, junction improvements, signage, lighting, landscaping and minor structures - are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
You will:
·Lead day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered to programme, within budget and in line with customer expectations.
·Maintain strict standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance across the site.
·Manage multiple work packages simultaneously while driving proactive change control within contract requirements.
·Collaborate closely with clients, internal teams and supply chain partners to maintain a unified, forward-thinking approach to project delivery.
·Create an energetic and inclusive site culture that encourages innovation, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
·Identify opportunities for smarter, more sustainable methods of construction to support positive project outcomes.
What you'll need to bring
To excel as a Senior Site Manager / Agent, you will bring:
·Proven experience delivering Highways or Streetworks infrastructure schemes.
·Strong planning, organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
·Working knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, design management, programmes, risk management and cost reporting.
·Solid understanding of civil engineering specifications and testing processes.
·Proficiency in MS Project and Excel.
·Full UK driving licence.
·Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
·NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in a construction-related discipline.
·SMSTS qualification.
·Appointed Person CPCS card (desirable, not essential).
