Senior Estimator – Main Contractor

Salary: Up to £85,000 + £5,500 Car Allowance + Package
A well-established and highly regarded main contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team based in Wolverhampton. Role Overview
As Senior Estimator, you will play a key role within the pre-construction team, leading the preparation of competitive and accurate tender submissions. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and the supply chain to ensure cost-effective and technically compliant proposals.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of detailed and competitive tender submissions for a range of construction projects.

Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
*
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and pricing schedules.
*
Manage and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
*
Work closely with the pre-construction, design, and commercial teams to develop robust bid strategies.
*
Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
*
Attend tender meetings, internal reviews, and client presentations where required.
*
Support negotiations and clarification processes during the tender stage.
*
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within a main contracting environment.
*
Strong understanding of construction pricing, tendering processes, and cost planning.
*
Experience pricing a variety of construction projects across different sectors.
*
Excellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
*
Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
*
Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced pre-construction environment.
