The following job description outlines the position of: EC&I Engineer (Subsea Equipment). Typically, this person will be responsible for designing and developing offshore and subsea equipment, participating in every phase of the project lifecycle. Their involvement spans from understanding client requirements through design, development, installation, testing, customer acceptance, documentation, training, and occasionally providing post-sales support.
Additionally, they offer support to other business functions, including Sales, Project Management, Procurement, Production, Commissioning, and Documentation. HSB Technical’s client is a well-established and reputable business entity.
Duties and Responsibilities of the EC&I Engineer:
1. Design of offshore and subsea equipment
2. Design of distributed control systems (PLC, SCADA)
3. Design of network and communications systems including RS485, MODBUS, and Ethernet protocols
4. Design of low voltage and extra low voltage control circuits
5. Measurement systems & instrumentation
6. Selection and integration of subsea surveillance, vision, and lighting systems
7. Using CAD to design and produce top-level system diagrams, interconnecting wiring drawings, and detailed electrical, control & instrumentation schematics
Qualifications and Requirements for the EC&I Engineer:
1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
2. Practical experience/background in the subsea industry
3. Experience in machine control systems / automation
4. Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD
5. Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor
