Team / Role Overview
The Program Management Advisory and Execution (PMAE) is the only enterprise‑level resource that supports all business units across the bank to plan, execute, and govern complex cross‑functional initiatives, programs, and projects. The team works across silos, moving from topic to topic while maintaining program management governance rules. PMAE consists of over 80 professionals with diverse backgrounds.
The work varies across engagements but generally ranges from regulatory compliance and risk management to technology integration within broader business initiatives. The organization is highly matrixed; you will operate independently, interact with clients and stakeholders daily, and shift to new projects as initiatives close.
What you’ll do
* Ensure consistent quality of deliverables for assigned programs and projects, providing quality control for workstreams and anticipating problems to proactively identify solutions.
* Guide, influence, and direct individuals responsible for separate work efforts to achieve common goals through matrix management.
* Define program requirements independently and execute.
* Collaborate with executive leadership, stakeholders, project leads, sponsors, and business partners to clarify and define project requirements.
* Provide independent third‑party challenge for program deliverables, plans, and other requirements.
* Demonstrate subject‑area expertise and share knowledge, solving complex problems and turning ambiguous inputs into actionable plans.
* Mobilize diverse stakeholder teams toward a common goal and act as a change catalyst.
* Drive the pace of work for self and other program resources while managing the program holistically.
* Make decisions in end‑to‑end program management, developing and implementing processes and performance metrics.
* Establish relationships with stakeholders to define initial scope, timeline, resource needs, and costs.
* Communicate effectively to distill complex strategies into simple, actionable recommendations.
What we’ll need from you
* Experience managing complex projects and programs following a structured methodology.
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
* Technical proficiencies in MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Demonstrated ability to lead a program in all lifecycle activities with broad impact.
* Must be able to work at the Citi Belfast location 3 days per week.
* PMP or PRINCE2 certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 1 year of employment.
* Professional experience in a large corporation, preferably within the financial sector.
* Finance or accounting experience is a plus.
* Experience with enterprise program management tools.
