We’re currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our fantastic Highways team, based at our Colchester site, supporting projects across the South East region. You’ll play a key role in our commercial team, working closely with the Managing Quantity Surveyor and building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and client representatives.

Key Responsibilities
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll ideally bring experience from similar sectors such as Highways, Road Infrastructure, Paving, Surfacing, or Civil Engineering. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing sub-contracts: issuing tender enquiries, awarding contracts, and assessing monthly payment applications
Supporting the preparation of monthly CVRs and forecasts (internal and client-facing)
Assisting with final account agreements and substantiations
Ensuring compliance with Tarmac and client processes to mitigate commercial risk
Accurately valuing completed work and ensuring timely cash collection
Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment
Issuing early warning notices and managing compensation eventsAdditional Requirements:
Company vehicle provided
Full UK manual driving licence (max 6 penalty points)
Occasional UK travel to support wider team needs
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in surfacing or highways infrastructure projects
Strong drive and ambition to succeed
NEC3/4 contract experience (highly desirable)
Solid sub-contract administration skills
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Commercial awareness and process-driven mindset
Willingness to travel between sites as requiredQualifications:
Degree-level qualification preferred
HND or Qualified by Experience (QBE) also considered
Location Details
Based at our Colchester Office in Essex. Easily commutable from Colchester, Tiptree, West Mersea, Clacton-on-Sea, Great Bentley, Braintree, Witham, Ipswich, Sudbury, Halstead, Chelmsford, and surrounding areas.
