Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, and to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
Shift Pattern
The post follows a Monday‑Friday 08:45‑17:00 schedule.
Responsibilities
Provide an efficient Health Records service to support effective clinical care. This includes:
* Administering and processing patient appointments for outpatient clinics, day cases and inpatient admissions with accuracy and confidentiality.
* Maintaining electronic and paper‑based patient record systems, ensuring data is confidential, accurate and up‑to‑date.
* Checking and updating patient demographic and administrative data in the patient management system.
Qualifications
* National 4 or Level 1 qualification in 3 subjects, including English or equivalent.
* General administration and office experience, or previous clerical experience, is desirable.
* Computer literate with good keyboard skills.
* Previous reception experience desirable.
* Prior experience of using a Patient Management System is desirable; training will be provided.
Location and Mobility
This is a GGC‑wide post that can be relocated to any site; the initial base will be Gartnavel General Hospital.

Permanent.
