To provide high quality reception and administrative support to patients and staff alike.
answering the phone and dealing with queries
coding onto patient records
registration of new patients, temporary and permanent
liaise with other services in the community
triage of urgent appointments, ensuring that the patient is seen by the most appropriate clinician
IJ Healthcare consists of 2 practices; 1 Sessional Locum GP
~1 finance officer
~2 Healthcare Assistants
~1 Medical Secretary
~8 receptionists
~ we also have additional role staff consisting off a practice pharmacist, Physiotherapist, care coordinator and a mental health worker.
There is flexibility and the chance to work across both practices although this post will primarily be based at ELvaston Road Surgery. Full training and supervision will be given. Training and development are encouraged within the practice. Annual appraisals and constant reviewing ensures that everyone on the team is working to their optimised level. Quarterly team meetings and sharing of best practice make the running of the 2 surgeries a full team effort.
To ensure success, you should be a confident and professional administrator with fantastic communication and interpersonal skills that will contribute to the efficient day-to-day administration of the healthcare facility. You will work comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and can effectively react to patient emergencies. Medical Receptionists are expected to be compassionate and discrete with superb time management and record keeping skills.

GCSE Grade A to D in Maths and English
Previous experience working within a healthcare environment is essential as is knowledge of EMIS and medical terminology. UK driving licence is desirable as you may be required to travel between sites.
