Job Opportunity: Family Time Support Worker (Supervised Contact)
📍 Knowsley Council | Children’s Services | Temporary (3 Months Initial Contract)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract: Initially 3 months, with the possibility of extension
About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting children and families to build positive, safe relationships? Knowsley Council is seeking compassionate and dedicated Family Time Support Workers to facilitate supervised contact sessions between children and their families.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a vital team within Children’s Services, ensuring that children in care experience meaningful, safe, and consistent time with their families.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate and supervise contact between children and their families in a safe, neutral environment.
Promote positive, nurturing experiences during family time.
Observe and assess family interactions, recording observations objectively and accurately.
Liaise with social workers and professionals to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
Support children before, during, and after contact sessions, with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing.
Prepare and maintain detailed written reports for court proceedings and case reviews, where required.What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children, young people, and families in social care, education, or a similar setting.
A compassionate, non-judgmental approach to supporting families.
Ability to manage sensitive and challenging situations with professionalism.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility to support families across various locations within the borough.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.What We Offer
