Purpose of the role:
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our small (but important) internal I.T team. You will be working as an I.T Support Technician to provide excellent I.T technical service to all our staff members and guests. This is an exciting and diverse role which will expose you to different technologies we have available at ETG - from client-end software to infrastructure server and network configuration.
Job Description:
As an I.T Support Technician, you will be responsible for installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and application problems, either over the phone or in person. Priority will be first-line I.T support, but depending on experience, there is an opportunity and scope for infrastructure-level support and configuration.
Role and Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting IT issues with guests and staff members;
Utilise and develop a ticket system to record/ manage Support Requests and Calls;
Providing callouts and remote sessions to end users, working with determination to fix an issue, and providing a clear explanation of the issue in question.
Repairing and maintaining hardware and software;
Installing software and providing instructions for users on using that software;
Creating an adequate supply of IT-related stock for a business, such as cables, routers, adapters and any other equipment necessary for the functioning of the company systems.
Knowledge & Skills:
Required
The ability to break down an issue logically, providing a solution based on methodical problem-solving.
Experience working across the operating system Windows 11.
Familiarisation with working with Office 365 business applications, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
Confident in physically repairing desktop computers and laptops.
Familiarity with command-line shells like PowerShell or Command Prompt in Windows.
Understanding of core I.T fundamentals such as the OSI model, DNS, DHCP, virtualisation, cloud computing, and AI.
Desirable
Practical exposure to Microsoft Azure or hybrid solutions.
Experience working with hypervisors VMWare and Hyper-V.
Knowledge of Active Directory and working in Windows Domain environments.
Exposure to operating systems Windows Server 2016/2019/2025.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
IT-related degree, vendor-specific courses or diploma, preferred
CompTIA A+ Certification is beneficial
0-2 years of experience in a similar role
