As a Clerk of Works, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of construction work, helping to deliver safe and high-standard homes. Key Responsibilities: Regularly inspect construction sites to monitor progress and quality. Ensure all work complies with plans, specifications, and building regulations. Report any issues or deviations to the project manager or architect. Maintain detailed records of inspections and findings. Requirements: Proven experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge of building regulations and construction standards. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and reporting abilities. Client Representation & Quality Assurance Serve as the on-site representative for the client, ensuring all construction activities meet the agreed standards, specifications, and timelines. Oversee the use of appropriate materials and workmanship to deliver high-quality results and value for money. Responsible for signing off completed works, attending handovers, and conducting independent end-of-day inspections on behalf of the client. Technical Knowledge & Compliance Possess strong knowledge of building construction practices, including familiarity with CDM regulations and current health and safety legislation. Previous experience in a similar role within construction or refurbishment environments is essential. Experience with Decent Homes projects is advantageous. Attention to Detail & Quality Focus Demonstrate a meticulous approach to inspections, ensuring both technical standards and health and safety requirements are rigorously upheld. Maintain a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes. Communication & Contractor Management Exhibit excellent communication skills and a strong background in customer service. Capable of managing on-site contractors effectively and resolving conflicts professionally when they arise. IT Proficiency Confident in using IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
