Our client is seeking a motivated Private Client Solicitor to join its well‑established team in Edinburgh. This role offers exposure to the full breadth of private client work, including wills, powers of attorney, trusts, and succession planning. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced team members and will be supported in undertaking the STEP qualification if not already obtained.
This position is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in private client matters, strong client‑facing skills, and a proactive, solution‑focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Meet clients to advise on and draft wills and powers of attorney and oversee execution of documents.
2. Provide guidance on succession planning, tax planning, and asset protection.
3. Draft trusts and deliver ongoing advice relating to trust administration and winding‑up.
4. Gain exposure to executry administration.
5. Contribute to business development initiatives within the department and wider firm.
6. Support knowledge management and assist with developing technical solutions for large private client matters.
You will ideally bring 1–2 years’ PQE and a strong interest in private client work. Excellent communication skills, strong client care abilities, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving are essential.
