Department Description Finding effective ways of generating new business is critical to our continued growth. One of the ways we will do this is by being the go-to bank for established SMEs within our local business community by having durable and trust based relationships with a variety of introducers. Established SMEs get increasingly poor value and impersonal relationships from their incumbent high street banks. Despite rising interest rates, they are not getting paid competitive interest on their cash, and they continue to be charged high fees on their current accounts and cards. We intend to change that, building on the disruptive approach and great customer service we have already established in the lending market. Our business current account is live with mobile and web apps, enabling both card and a full range of electronic payments. The account has market leading pricing – no monthly account fees, no payment fees, and cashback on card spend. Alongside this we offer a range of highly competitively priced business deposit accounts (instant access, notice, fixed term) to ensure established businesses receive a decent return on their hard earned cash. Role Description Our Local Business Development team will be the face of Allica Bank in your local community and will build and develop strong and trusted external relationships. You will be a highly active networker with strong visibility in local business groups, with local professionals and with the wider business support ecosystem. Your focus will be on winning active new Business Rewards and Savings Accounts, taking responsibility for the end-to-end client experience – generating referrals, onboarding clients and delivering funded accounts. For additional lending requirements you will co-ordinate the introduction to our Relationship Manager (RM) team. Your activity will also be supported by our Marketing team. This will include attending and hosting events, roundtables, educational webinars and contributing to case studies as well as other local marketing initiatives. You will also work closely with your local Relationship Manager team, coordinating a united presence to your local market, and colleagues form the wider business as appropriate. It is vital that you are experienced in B2B sales and account management, managing multiple stakeholders, creating revenue opportunities and accurate and timely reporting. This role does not include working with commercial finance brokers, these partnerships are managed by a dedicated team within the bank. Principal Accountabilities Be the go-to person in your local community through strong, durable and trusted external relationships. You will be the face of Allica Bank in your local business networks and will be expected to be highly active and visible in local business groups and with local professionals. You will attract new business introductions and build a network of repeat new business referrers. You will deliver against agreed new business targets, specifically new to bank customers and value of deposits attracted. Taking a consultative approach to build trust and understanding, establishing Allica as the most recommended bank in your area. Introducing our Business Rewards Account and associated cash management products for introducers and their clients as well as directly to prospects. Being responsible for the end-to-end client onboarding journey, funding and usage of accounts. Qualifying and assigning each firm to an appropriate Relationship Manager (RM) when they / their clients require an Allica lending product (e.g. commercial mortgage or asset finance). Being the dedicated Allica representative for a firm to speak to. Always being professional, proactive, knowledgeable, precise and friendly, and always exhibiting our values of Straightforward, Integrity, Collaborative and Delivery. Running regional activities, including events, roundtables and webinars and team meetings alongside colleagues and third-party organisations, where appropriate. Building and managing a shadow portfolio and following our customer relationship management (CRM) process. Ensuring we capture, track and report on progress. Actively managing your objectives and personal development plan. Making your colleagues proud that you represent Allica, by ensuring excellent service for our partners, SME customers and prospects. Working closely and collaboratively with all areas of Allica to ensure a seamless experience and professional service is always provided. Complying with all mandatory policies, and adherence to operational procedures to maintain internal controls. Personal Attributes & Experience You will have a proven track record in effective B2B sales and account management, ideally in Business/Commercial Banking although this is not essential. You will be able to demonstrate adept management of multiple stakeholders and ability to exceed new business targets. You should have a general understanding of SME financial products (eg payments, lending, accounting, CRM), and ideally specific expertise in business current accounts. You will have a good understanding of SMEs and of their advisory networks and the wider business support/advice ecosystem. You will be able to evidence success in building productive relationships within these networks. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, and strong communication and presenting skills for in-person meetings, webinars and events. You will have strong portfolio management, CRM management and reporting skills. You will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with specialist colleagues such as RMs, KYB and Marketing, to deliver a good outcomes for our customers, colleagues and company.
