Electrical Service Engineer - Northwest & South Wales Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Overtime Location: Covering the Northwest & North Wales region Hours: Typically 47.5 per week | Shift: Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm Call-Out: 1 in 5 or 6 weekends - paid at 1.5x (Saturdays) and 2x (Sundays) Benefits: Company van, fuel card, phone, tools (excluding hand tools) About the Role: We're seeking an experienced Electrical Service Engineer to join a growing engineering team working across the Northwest and South Wales. This is a field-based role with a 70/30 split of electrical work, offering great autonomy and long-term progression within a company planning to double its team over the next 5 years. You'll be responsible for servicing, fault finding, and maintaining a range of industrial machinery including balers, rollers, and other heavy plant equipment. The role includes electrical fault finding (including 3-phase systems and PLC diagnostics), commissioning and decommissioning, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks. No need to be based near the site - we're looking for the right skill set over location. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair faults on electrical systems (including PLCs and 3-phase machinery) Conduct routine PPM and emergency repairs on-site Commission and decommission plant equipment Support customers with technical issues and ensure minimal downtime Participate in weekend call-outs on a rota basis (1 in 5 or 6) Ideal Candidate Will Have: Electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, 17th/18th Edition) Experience working with balers, compactors, or rollers Background in heavy plant or industrial machinery PLC fault finding skills Strong understanding of 3-phase systems Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently on the road What's on Offer: Competitive salary (£35k-£40k) Paid overtime after 50 hours (1.5x rate) Weekend call-out premiums (1.5x Saturday, 2x Sunday) 21 days holiday 8 bank holidays Company van, phone, fuel card, and specialist tools (excl. hand tools) 3% employer pension contribution Opportunity to progress into senior roles as the team grows Department & Company Overview: You'll be joining a small but expanding team of 5 engineers, with clear growth plans in place.
