Senior Social Worker - Adoption Team
Thurrock Council is looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Adoption Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across the full adoption journey within a supportive and well-established service.
About the Role
* Recruitment and assessment of adopters
* Delivering preparation training and information events
* Family finding and matching for children
* Supporting adopters post-placement
* Working with birth parents
* Completing post‑adoption and SGO assessments
* Preparing court reports (including non‑agency and stepparent adoptions)
* Working in partnership with Adopt East
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with 3+ years PQE
* Adoption experience is essential
* Strong background in statutory childcare
* Excellent report writing and communication skills
* Social Work England registration
