The M25 project is a flagship UK scheme managed by Connect Plus Services (CPS) to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract. We are looking for a Senior Project Planner to join our team.
This role is central to creating, maintaining and communicating project delivery schedules using specialist planning tools (including MS Project and Primavera P6) to ensure that projects are delivered on time. The Senior Project Planner will work closely with Portfolio Managers to produce accurate and reliable project schedules and regular reports showing progress against baselines and reasons for deviation. An important part of this role is to support the Commercial team in assessing the impact of Compensation Events under the NEC contract, making evidence-based assessments of changes (including Extensions of Time) and communicating results clearly.
This position can be based out of South Mimms, Leatherhead or Dartford sites.
Responsibilities
* Set up projects in the planning system according to standard WBS codes and the Enterprise Project Structure (EPS).
* Establish a delivery baseline for the project and create new baselines as necessary to monitor and report performance.
* Ensure monthly cost forecast and programme schedule alignment, and that delivery assumptions in commercial and schedule forecasts match.
* Progress the programme monthly using information from site, contractor applications/reports/progress updates; query discrepancies with the Project Manager as necessary.
* Provide the Project Manager with a monthly update of the delivery programme in an agreed format.
* Provide summary management information on programme performance by project/programme/portfolio.
* Review contractor programmes for NEC contract compliance and provide feedback to the Project Manager for action with the Contractor.
* Undertake programme assessments of Compensation Events on behalf of the Project Manager, advising on valid Extensions of Time with evidence to support decisions.
* Analyse schedule information for trends and issues and use this to create schedule benchmarks for future projects.
* Ensure common coding structures are applied throughout the programme to enable reporting.
Qualifications
* Educated to A-level standard or equivalent, preferably with mathematics or technically-based subjects.
* Experience in planning/scheduling software (such as Primavera P6 or MS Project).
* Experience with NEC contracts is preferred.
* Experience of working in a multi-stakeholder environment.
* Ability to handle large volumes of data and summarise key points and trends.
* Highly organized with the ability to manage many priorities without impacting outputs.
