Unison Administrator

The purpose of this job is to support the Unison team in providing a full administrative service for the branch and to assist in providing support to Unison members on a one-year fixed term contract. You will be the first point of contact for staff and visitors to the branch.
This post is fixed term, however, existing Trust employees are welcome to apply as a secondment providing they have agreement from their current line manager before they apply.

Main duties of the job
* Be the first point of contact for staff and visitors.
* Carry out responsibilities with due regard to the Trust's Equal Opportunities Policy.
* Be aware of the responsibility of all employees to maintain a safe and healthy environment for visitors and staff and attend all relevant health and safety training.
* Ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard.
* Liaise with and respond to staff from external agencies regionally.
* Train on Unison systems and any other mandatory Unison training required for the role.
* Support the team and the efficient running of the branch.
* Communicate effectively as a member of the team.
* Liaise with and respond to requests from staff and their managers.
* Support Unison members with enquiries.
* Assist with the running of the Resource Centre.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in a team
* Experience of working customer facing service
* Minute taking
* Experience with filing procedures
* Ability to communicate face to face and on the telephone
Qualifications/Training and professional development
* Educated to GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy
* IT experience of Microsoft Office packages – including Excel and Word
Skills, abilities and knowledge
* Good organisational skills
* Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
* Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines within the boundaries of the role
* Demonstrate an understanding of working with sensitive and confidential information
