The College is looking to appoint a Pastoral and Wellbeing Mentor to provide a complementary service to both teaching and support staff, addressing the needs of learners who need help to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside of the classroom in order to achieve their potential.
Ideally, you will:
* Hold a professional qualification and/or training at Level 3 or casework experience in supporting learners with a diverse range of needs
* Hold GCSEs in English and maths at grade 4/C or above or equivalent
* Possess a Level 2 Counselling qualification or equivalent
* Have experience of working with young people, in a pastoral role, on a one-to-one basis, within a Further Education setting
* Have experience liaising with schools and other agencies including mental health professionals and putting supportive strategies put in place
* Have an empathetic approach to working individually with young people and adults
