Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced and compassionate Paediatric Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our expanding Community Diagnostic Hub service. This role plays a pivotal part in improving early identification and management of asthma in children and young people.
You will lead on delivering accurate, timely asthma assessments and diagnoses, ensuring families receive clear, evidence-based guidance and rapid access to the right support. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll help shape a high-quality, community-based diagnostic pathway that reduces delays, enhances patient experience, and supports better long-term outcomes.
Main duties of the job
Conduct specialist asthma assessments, including history-taking, spirometry, FeNO testing, and symptom evaluation.
Provide timely and accurate diagnosis of asthma within Community Diagnostic Hubs.
Develop personalised care plans and ensure families understand management strategies.
Offer expert clinical advice and education to children, families, and healthcare colleagues.
Support service development to strengthen community-based respiratory pathways.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to training across the wider paediatric workforce.
Participate in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
