Job Title: Civil Estimator Location: Maidstone, Kent Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our growing team in Maidstone, Kent. This role is ideal for a detail-driven professional with a strong background in civil engineering who is looking to play a critical role in the success of project tenders and pre-construction planning. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of civil engineering projects, including groundworks, infrastructure, drainage, roads, and utilities. Key Responsibilities: * Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil projects. * Liaise with clients, engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain relevant pricing and scope details. * Prepare comprehensive tender submissions, including detailed cost breakdowns and supporting documents. * Conduct risk assessments and highlight commercial or technical risks in tenders. * Ensure that all estimates are completed on time and align with company standards and client requirements. * Assist with value engineering and provide input on alternative solutions or materials to improve cost efficiency. * Maintain a database of pricing and suppliers and keep up to date with market rates. * Support the handover process from pre-construction to project delivery teams. Requirements: * Proven experience in estimating for civil engineering or construction projects. * Strong knowledge of civil engineering methods, materials, and current market rates. * Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents. * Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel. * Strong organisational and communication skills. * Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline are preferred.
