We are currently looking to hire a Manager of Medical Services (Commercial & Partnerships) to join our Corporate Team in Hereford, England, United Kingdom.

This position is (Non-Clinical | Strategic & Commercial Leadership | Non-Shift Based)

*This position requires working onsite from our Hereford, UK Headquarters. Candidates must be able to work in the office full-time.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Manager of Medical Services (Commercial & Partnerships) is a non-clinical, commercially focused leadership role responsible for aligning SPS's medical assistance services with sales, insurance, and client requirements. The role acts as the strategic interface between Medical Operations, Sales, and Insurance partners, ensuring that medical products, service levels, and contractual commitments are commercially viable, operationally deliverable, and margin-protected. This role does not hold clinical authority, medical governance responsibility, or decision-making responsibility for patient care. All clinical oversight and medical decision-making remain with Medical Operations and treating clinicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

1. Act as the primary commercial and strategic link between Medical Operations and: o Sales teams
2. Insurance carriers and underwriters
3. Enterprise clients and broker partners
4. Shape and own the commercial positioning of SPS medical assistance offerings, including product tiers, scope, and value proposition.
5. Ensure medical services are aligned to broader business strategy, growth objectives, and insurance market requirements.
6. Full ownership of commercial, contractual, clients, and product governance for medical assistance services

Product, SLA & Contract Governance

7. Own medical service SLAs from a commercial, contractual, and performance perspective (not clinical delivery), ensuring they are:
8. Clearly defined and consistent
9. Contractually aligned
10. Operationally achievable and financially sustainable
11. Maintain and govern:
12. Rate cards and pricing structures
13. Service descriptions and scope documents
14. Ensure consistency across:
15. Client contracts
16. Policy wordings
17. Sales materials and proposals

Client, Insurer & Partner Engagement

18. Act as the senior commercial medical lead for medical-led or medical-heavy accounts.
19. Support and lead engagement with:
20. Insurance underwriters and carriers
21. Brokers and enterprise clients
22. Lead or support:
23. Underwriter due diligence processes
24. Capability reviews and audits
25. Service performance and contractual discussions

Sales Enablement & Growth Support

26. Support sales proposals, tenders, and RFP responses involving medical assistance services.
27. Provide clear, credible explanations of medical service structures to insurers and clients.
• Ensure sales commitments align with operational capability and cost assumptions.

Financial & Margin Ownership

28. Own medical service margin, working closely with Finance and Operations.
29. Support revenue planning, forecasting, and pricing strategy for medical assistance services.
30. Identify and mitigate:
31. Cost leakage
32. Margin erosion
33. Commercial risk arising from misaligned contracts or SLAs

Operational Feedback & Continuous Improvement

34. Establish and maintain a structured feedback loop between:
35. Medical Operations, Sales, and Insurance Partners
36. Translate operational insight into:
37. Improved product design
38. Refined pricing and SLAs
39. Stronger commercial decision-making

Reporting, Compliance & Quality

40. Oversee reporting quality for medical-led accounts from a commercial and contractual perspective.
41. Ensure commercial compliance with:
42. Client contracts
43. Insurer requirements
44. Internal governance standards

Authority & Scope (Clarification)

45. No clinical authority or medical decision-making responsibility
46. No patient care or medical governance accountability
47. Full ownership of commercial, contractual, and product governance for medical assistance services

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

48. Must be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.
49. 5+ years of progressive experience in medical services management, healthcare operations, or insurance-linked assistance programs
50. Proven ability to collaborate across operations, sales, and external partner organizations to drive service excellence
51. Demonstrated experience managing:
52. SLA-driven service delivery and performance metrics
53. Operations within insurance or regulated healthcare environments
54. P&L responsibility and margin optimization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

55. Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MHA, etc.) preferred
56. Experience working with:
57. Insurance underwriters and brokers
58. Global assistance or emergency response organisations
59. Background in NHS senior operational, commissioning, transformation, or service leadership roles
60. Experience in ISO-aligned or governance-driven environments
61. Commercially astute with strong financial awareness
62. Confident, credible senior stakeholder engagement
63. Able to translate operational delivery into commercial structures
64. Detail-oriented with strong contractual discipline
65. Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-risk, global environments

Hereford, United Kingdom Pay Range £60,000—£60,000 GBP
