We seek dynamic individuals eager to develop their skills in becoming a health visitor. Enroll in the PGDip Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN - health visitor) course starting January 2026, offered in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University, which provides comprehensive training and a pathway to a fulfilling profession.
Main duties include:
* Participating in educational sessions and completing assignments to meet learning objectives.
* Maintaining close liaison with your Practice Assessor and developing a tailored clinical learning program.
* Understanding and addressing health inequalities across diverse communities.
* Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating family-focused care programs.
* Supporting delivery of the Healthy Child Programme and developing into an autonomous practitioner.
* Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns related to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
Communication:
* Building relationships with families and multi-agency professionals.
* Reporting absences and attending clinical supervision sessions.
People Management: Maintaining professional development and adhering to NMC standards.
Clinical Governance:
* Maintaining confidentiality, adhering to data protection, infection control, and risk management policies.
* Participating in audits and safeguarding activities.
Safeguarding: All staff must develop safeguarding competencies and adhere to local safeguarding policies, protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Additional info: The role is subject to DBS checks, requires current UK registration, and involves responsibilities towards environmental sustainability.
Qualifications: Current NMC registration as a Nurse or Midwife.
Experience & Skills: Ability to work with children and families, partnership working, understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding, and good communication skills.
This is a fixed-term, full-time, 12-month Band 5 position, with a salary range of £31,049 to £37,796 per annum.
