Overview
We are looking for two proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative individuals to join the Portfolio Management Office (PoMO) supporting the delivery of the Mid Wales Growth Deal (MWGD) - a transformative £110m investment from the UK and Welsh Governments, driving forward a £300m+ portfolio of strategic projects to grow the regional economy. As a Portfolio Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of the MWGD Portfolio. Reporting to the Portfolio Planner, you will provide analytical insight, maintain oversight of programme and project performance, and support governance and financial management processes. Your work will help ensure strategic alignment, effective resource allocation, and informed decision-making across the portfolio.
* portfolio oversight: maintain delivery maps, monitor progress, and track interdependencies across projects
* governance and reporting: co-ordinate project reporting, analyse performance data, and support governance boards
* stakeholder engagement: build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting communication and collaboration
* risk and benefits management: identify and monitor risks and opportunities and support the development of benefit measurement mechanisms
* support and insight: provide high-quality analysis and visualisation of data to inform strategic decisions, + Growth and Enterprise: Supporting economic growth and regeneration locally and across the region; Growing Mid Wales; the Corporate Estate and Development Opportunities; Project Support; European and local funding; Food Centre Wales and supporting Agri-Food development; Tourism promotion and development; Tourist Information Centres; Coast and Countryside
* Planning Services: Supporting growth through Planning and Building Control Services; Strategic and Local Land Use Planning Policy; Development Management; Building Control; and Land Searches.
* Property Services: Supporting the Council's programme through Project Management; Property and Building Maintenance; Facilities Management; Carbon Management; and the Efficient Use of Council Property.
Qualifications
* a relevant degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years' experience in a Programme Management Office
* strong planning, scheduling, and risk management skills
* experience supporting governance, assurance, and change control processes
* excellent communication and collaboration abilities
* a resilient, innovative thinker with a keen eye for detail, PRINCE2, APM, or PMI certifications
* understanding of the Mid Wales region and its socio-economic landscape
