The Job you will do:
* Act as the principal point of contact between the company and the clients’ professional team throughout the tendering process.
* Establish and communicate to the bid team the requirements of each tender.
* Liaise with internal and external designers to produce a design sufficiently advanced for pricing.
* Take-off quantities from tender drawings.
* Build up rates for items in a Bill of Quantities using Meldrum labour, plant, and materials.
* Assemble and issue supply chain enquiries.
* Liaise with other team members involved in tender preparation to ensure that the submitted tender documents meet or exceed the client’s requirements.
* Work within the bid team throughout the entire bidding process to enable the company to secure design and build projects.
* Support the development and implementation of digital tools to execute cost take-off and estimating activities, such as 5D cost planning.
* Attend or carry out periodic tender health checks and formal risk reviews to mitigate risks in tender submissions.
* Ensure cost planning and estimating are accurate and reflect project requirements and risk profile.
* Participate in post-tender negotiations with the client and their professional team.
* Ensure detailed handovers are made to the delivery team, including the commercial team, for successful tenders.
About you:
o Ideally hold a relevant qualification, such as a degree, HND, HNC, or similar.
o Experience in analyzing tender documents and contract terms.
o Familiarity with BIM-enabled design.
o Experience in costing and developing whole life cycle costs.
o Ability to develop sub-contract terms and conditions.
o Skills in developing a value proposition considering cost, durability, low carbon footprint, and aesthetics.
o Experience in developing tenders and obtaining prices, including dealing with variations.
o Proficiency in planning, producing product/service specifications, reading technical drawings, risk assessment, and creating business cases for offsite solutions.
