Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking person to help our Pre-school with the administrative duties. We are a charity and rely on support from the local community and government funding. This job can be done on-site and at home on some occasions, where it is not necessary to come in, for example, replying to emails.
Duties would include:
* Bookkeeping on Xero:
* sales (raising invoices for school fees each half term)
* purchase ledger
* bank reconciliation
* Some credit control/statements sent to parents
* Monthly payroll on basic tools (to be moved to Xero payroll in April), monthly payroll journal on Xero.
* Annual year-end accounts lodged with the Charity Commission.
* The admin part of the role is applying to DCC for funding on their portal each term.
* Replying to emails
* To follow the Preschool Fees Policies and Procedures.
* Organise and pay utility contracts, consider value for services.
* Pay memberships and insurance.
* Pay building maintenance contractors as required
* Manage and record the total of expenditures in budget categories.
* Order resources as advised by the Manager or Committee.
* Organise annual accountant audit and prepare books for submission.
* Present up-to-date financial information to the Management Committee at Committee Meetings during the year, as requested, and to all interested parties at the Annual General Meeting.
* To keep staff informed of changes in wages as instructed by the Management Committee
* Undertake any other duties as may be requested from time to time by the Pre-school Management Committee.
You will be responsible
To act under the instruction of the Pre-school Management Committee
To be aware of and work within the policies and ethos of the Preschool Constitution.
To act within the legislation of the Charity Commission
To follow the requirements of HMRC
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: £12.21-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 6 per week
