Founded in 1915 by Sir Arthur Pearson to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have supported those blinded in subsequent wars and military engagements, including the Second World War, and more recently, the conflicts in the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan. We are now looking for a Health Care Support to join us on a full-time basis for a 12 month fixed-term contract. The Role Within this Health Care Support role, you will deliver outstanding, person-centred care to our members and beneficiaries. Specifically, you will work alongside our Wellbeing Nurses and Senior Health Care Support to provide high-quality care in both regulated and unregulated settings. You will undertake personal care duties, promote opportunities for members to live fulfilling lives, assist with meals, activities, outings, and events, and support the creation of a safe and positive environment. Additionally, you will: - Keep accurate records - Support the administration of medication - Help to deliver care plans and risk assessments - Provide handover notes - Promote safety and wellbeing during all activities and centre visits - Report issues to the Wellbeing Nurse to ensure continuity of care About You To be considered as a Health Care Support, you will need: - An NVQ in Health and Social Care Level 2 (or the willingness to work towards) - Knowledge of health and safety in relation to delivering care - The ability to maintain accurate records and write reports - IT knowledge, including electronic care systems, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams The closing date for this role is 19th September 2025.
